The D4DR CLUB is the ultimate social club for adventure seekers of all types (Adventure Travelers, Extreme Sporters and general sensation, thrill, novelty or risk seekers)
Since I was a child, I always had the desire to explore the world, to experience places and cultures that most people only dreamt about...Danger thrilled me. No obstacle was to great, no fantasy too
far-fetched! I loved Adventure Travel, Extreme Sports and any other thrilling experience.
While traveling, in my early days, I began to despise 'tourists'. I couldn't stand people taking a snapshot of the Eiffel Tower and heading back to their 5 star hotel for a swim.
I realized that most people just want the same comforts that they have at home when they
travel. I also started to meet an elite group of travelers that wanted more.They wanted, not only to visit a country, but to experience the culture, meet with 'real' people. Shop where they do. Stay where they stay and eat what they eat.
Even in a poverty stricken, illiterate environment, there was an enormous amount to be learned.
In fact, I felt more comfortable amongst the natives than I did with my fellow westerners!
It didn't bother me to enter a war zone...plenty of people live in war zones...hell, most Americans live in war zones with out even realizing it!
So one day, I surfed the net, trying to figure out why I have this adventurous itch, this craving for danger. That's when I came across an article about the D4DR gene.It is a gene, located on chromosome 11 and is one of the only genes proven directly linked to a human character trait.
When the D4DR gene is mutant or elongated, science has shown that that person will be more prone to danger, excitement and thrill seeking. Likewise, he or she will be more interested in Adventure Travel and Extreme Sports as opposed to others interested in organized cruises and jogging.
As soon as I read this it was clear to me that I belonged to this genetic club. But how could I find others with the same feelings and desires as I?
How could I find like people with interests in Adventure Travel, Extreme Sports and other thrills?
This led me to research other clubs, Click on the link, 'Other clubs' to learn more. All, very fine, vintage clubs for adventure travelers, but inaccessible to the average person or not for the extremely wild of heart.
Some require having visited a minimum of 100 countries, while others require documented scientific exploration.
That's when I started The D4DR Club. It is open to all that feel they have what it takes.
No genetic testing is necessary. If you have an elongated D4DR, you probably know it.
Be proud of it! Flaunt it! Whatever your 'thing' is - Adventure Travel, Extreme Sports or if you just like an adrenaline rush. Join our ranks and finally meet others that feel the same as you do.
We are now in the stages of building membership, creating a constitution and appointing officers.
